Instructor: Candace Gillis
Instructor Bio: As for a brief bio....I live in Santa Fe (for 71 years) with my husband and dog. I am a retired high school English teacher. I have been sewing most of my life with both grandmothers and a great aunt as talented sewers and a mother who sewed but not as much. I only became an active quilter when I retired from teaching. I have two best friends and we are quilting 'buddies', challenging each other with new ideas and projects. I generally like pieced quilts. I love being able to stretch my brain and learn new things in quilting...most recently paper piecing and feathered stars! This past spring, I finally got a long arm quilting machine and am getting more and more comfortable with it.
